Former Cheltenham MP Martin Horwood has called for a new campaign to defend services at Cheltenham General Hospital.
Martin said "This is a danger moment for Cheltenham General. This year we will have a new chief executive and a new chair at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust.
The new NHS leadership may not understand the depth of local people’s feelings about services in Cheltenham like maternity and A&E.
"I led from the front in earlier campaigns on the local NHS and the public responded brilliantly, making sure we still have a maternity ward and an A&E department in Cheltenham today.
“But that kind of campaigning pressure needs to be kept up and we need it again now.”
"It's deeply disappointing that our new Tory MP's first promise was to raise the issue of Cheltenham A&E in parliament but that, more than a year on, it seems he never did so.
