Investing in services, investing in people

Our goals for the future

As Liberal Democrats, we want to improve and enrich the lives of everyone in Cheltenham, with no one forgotten and no one excluded. That is why we are continuing to invest in our local public services and in people’s wellbeing.

✓ We have granted a new 35 year lease to Sandford Lido Trust, building on the success of the Trust which was originally set up under the Liberal Democrats over 20 years ago.

✓ We have budgeted £150,000 to build new toilets in Sandford Park.

✓ We are committed to building another fully accessible Changing Places toilet in the town centre, hopefully at the Regent Arcade.

✓ We have contributed ‘seed funding’ to help create a new community exhibition gallery and arts café at The Wilson art gallery and museum.

✓ We are continuing with No Child Left Behind, the scheme we introduced in 2019 to improve the life chances of vulnerable children. This has inspired and supported many successful projects locally.

✓ We continue to support apprenticeships, with the council planning to take on four more apprentices by September 2021.
