We need a crossing on Warden Hill Road

We, the undersigned, call on Gloucestershire County Council to install an electronic pedestrian crossing on Warden Hill Road to help pupils attending Bournside, Belmont and Bettridge schools to cross safely.

The recent serious collision between a car and a pupil outside Bournside school has highlighted the urgent need for such a safety crossing.

More children go to school on the Bournside/Belmont/Bettridge site than anywhere else in the county. Despite this, lobbying over several years by local councillors for Shire Hall to install an electronic pedestrian crossing has fallen on deaf ears. It is now time for GCC to listen and to act; there is nothing more important than the safety of our children.
